Hi, I’m Donnalynne.

All my life I have been creating with a variety of mediums. Music, theater and costumes inspired me from a young age and later I got my hands dirty with clay, paint and leafing. These mediums as well as many others create a life energy running through my artwork. I’m attracted to the bizarre and different in the world and I carry aspects of those traits into my paintings. My artwork often veers towards the visionary, spiritual or the unusual.

I currently show my artwork in Occoquan VA at Art a La Carte Gallery at 310 Mill Street. I am an active member of the Springfield Art Guild where I served a 3-year term as Co-President and am currently on the Board. My artwork has been shown at Artworks RVA, Art at the Mill Clarke Co. VA, NOVA Alexandria campus, Del Ray Artisans, Green Spring Gardens, Springfield Days, Art in City Hall Alexandria, VA, Springfield Mall, Goodwin House, River Farm Alexandria, VA, Gallery West, Lorton Arts Foundation, the Vienna Arts Society and the Art League Alexandria, VA. There is also a painting of mine “May Angels Lead You” in the permanent collection of Mount Vernon Hospital’s Healing Arts Program.

The surrealist painters Dali and Magritte are two of my favorites with the illusions they create. Peter Paul Rubens has fascinated me since I first saw “Daniel in the Lions’ Den” with its intense drama and life. These artists have influenced me to think outside the box. I have also been influenced by the modern day visionary artists Robert Venosa, Martina Hoffmann, Alex Grey, Laurence Carauna, David Heskin and Aloria Weaver and have been able to take their workshops and classes.
