New Artwork at McGuire Woods Law Office in Tysons Corner

art

I have 4 pieces that have been accepted into the show “Connections” that will be shown through October 2025. Two of my pieces are abstract while the other two are representational.

This painting is oil and was a vision of what I saw shortly after my cat had died many years ago. I saw all of the parts moving and flickering in and out of light in a rippling kind of motion. This paintings title is “Cat Vision”.

This painting is also an oil painting in which I did predominantly with palette knives so this paint is thick , cut into and manipulated. I also added thin glazes on the top to bring the painting together. This painting is titled “From the Old Comes the New”.

This painting has been painted mostly with acrylics, but has some texture applied using a mica paint and other shiny materials embedded in the paint. This one also has a glaze layer on most of it which changes the hue of the blue. The feeling I got when painting this piece was of being able to go through to the other side and freeing yourself of the viny entanglement. This piece is titled “Brambles”.

This painting is entirely painted with acrylic paints including some iridescent pearl. This painting fits the theme of “Connections” probably the most since a puzzle is meant to connect. However, if you look carefully, you will notice that the interlocking pieces are not all on the same plane. Some parts look like you can see through to the other side and some interlock in front and behind the piece it is next to. This piece is titled “The Illusion of Life”.
